The purpose of this qualitative descriptive case study was to explore perceptions of elementary school teachers concerning the importance of increasing the motivation of elementary school students to learn STEM content. The study had 32 participants including elementary school teachers from private, public, and charter elementary schools in the U.S. The research data collection method was an online survey with open-ended questions using Survey Monkey. The survey had a total of 16 questions. The first five questions were demographic questions. The researcher used NVivo to analyze the data. The researcher used thematic analysis steps to analyze the data. After data analysis was finished, three major themes emerged from research questions:1. The main priority for teachers to motivate students is so they can become future STEM workers.2. Teachers can increase students' motivation to learn STEM content by serving as role models.3. The biggest challenge in motivating students to learn STEM content is to prepare educators to teach STEM content successfully.
