Have you ever played a video game? Any video game? I really do mean any video game... Yes, even Tetris counts. If you, dear reader, are living in the United States, there is a 65% chance that you answered yes to that question. The positive impact of video games can be measured across an increasing variety of factors. Video games are an engaging way for young people to develop important problem solving, critical thinking, and team cooperation or communication skills. Video games also provide an important social outlet for almost any age group. One significant benefit of video gaming's rising popularity is the increasing variety of games being developed to provide players with a gameplay experience designed to act as an educational resource or method to deliver literature. Literature has evolved outside the traditional/standard medium, and video games can now provide a story-driven, lore-heavy, interactive experience through which to interact with both new and old works of literature. Video games are a flexible and evolving medium of delivery that, as the form and technology continue to evolve, can and should be considered a serious method of delivering and consuming works of literature.
