Technology has been playing an important role in our lives. This is evident in many fields such as education, health and transportation. This is due to the fact that technology help provide efficiency and effectiveness to our tasks. Education is one sector benefiting from employing technologies such as eLearning, visualization and augmented and virtual realities. Animation education is one topic that can greatly benefit from technology as it is dependent heavily on visual content in 2D and 3D space. In this thesis, we address improving knowledge delivery in Animation using technology. The main contributions of the thesis are: (i) the detailed literature survey abouttechnology enhanced learning usage in education, (ii) technological background of augmented and virtual realities, and (iii) proposing and evaluating a mobile application based on augmented and virtual realities to enhance the content of static animation material such as books. In the proposed application, the user can interact with animation examples and tutorial using their mobile phone and stereoscopic 3D viewer (such as Google Cardboard). This enhances the experience of knowledge delivery. Evaluation of the proposed application demonstrated that it improved the readability of the book and provided new experiences to the reader. It also showed that providing visual and interactive example enriched the static content used in animation education.
