Cyber diplomacy is crucial in the current tech-driven environment in which diplomacy operates. It plays a critical role in problem-solving, crisis management, and conflict resolution as the world becomes more reliant on internet connection. There is a continued need for cyber diplomacy between countries to protect national interests and enhance internet users' security. As the world becomes more interconnected, challenges have emerged, such as cybersecurity, cyber espionage, privacy, and internet freedom. Governments around the world need to work together to shape cyberspace policy. Cyber diplomacy promotes and protects our core values of openness, internet freedom, and multi-stakeholder internet governance all of which have been threatened over the last several years. Cyberattacks are digital threats targeted towards specific infrastructure that include networks, software, or hardware with the intent of causing damage or misinformation. It is becoming an increasingly important risk to national and global safety and stability as countries are exposed to different threats. Recent technology advancements have correlated with rising cyber-threats. Cyberattacks are becoming costly not only for organizations but also for governments. The inefficiencies of national policies and regulations, coupled with the arguments for the sovereignty of countries, demand discussions on the best strategies governments can use to promote international cybersecurity. Cyber diplomacy was traditionally viewed from a technical and legislative perspective. However, as more countries continue to suffer the aftermath of attacks and their rising costs, there has been an expanded view of cyber diplomacy to incorporate political interests. This expansion has introduced state actors as major stakeholders.The purpose of the study is to examine the key role of diplomacy in enhancing international cybersecurity. To achieve this objective, the study focuses on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). There will be a review of the country's diplomatic practices and the extent to which they have promoted and applied cyberspace security. The study employed a comprehensive survey involving employees from the KSA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia Embassy in Washington, DC to collect data. The study also utilized a thematic method as a data analysis tool. In the thematic analysis, the focus is on deriving specific themes from the comprehensive surveys, as well as linking themes to research questions and problems. The findings revealed a positive role of diplomacy in promoting international cybersecurity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. KSA had stronger diplomatic relations with other countries, enhancing its attractiveness for global cooperation.
