Technology managers are at the forefront of controlling the communication mediums that tie the different workforce generations together to improve social media communication between Baby Boomers and Millennials in the workforce. This research shows that Baby Boomers and Millennials can work together to benefit from the knowledge transformation necessary for companies and individuals to succeed. This qualitative case study research aimed to explore the communication components that technology managers need to adopt to improve social media technology communication. Ten technology managers were interviewed through an online semi-structured video application medium, and these technology managers included cyber, media, technology, and project management managers. The criteria set for the interviewees were all full-time employees at least 18 years or older in a management role working in the Detroit metropolitan area. Participants revealed through the interview process and the data information received from the study, 5 primary themes linking technology managers with what was needed to improve inter-generational social media communication. The findings support the gap in knowledge.
