Women-owned businesses operating beyond 5 years in Ghana are considered necessary in society for eradicating poverty and unemployment. Today, businesses have become essential to inspire women to set up their enterprises. Traditionally, women have played a crucial role in the management of the family as well as society, but their job was not recognized. Women are active in families, farms, shops, politics, and factories. Women-owned businesses are gaining momentum globally, but women are facing many challenges. These challenges can be resolved by making women and their families aware of the opportunities available to them. Hence, the support of family members is essential for leveraging their creative talent. This paper focuses on the financial challenges and opportunities for growth that women-owned businesses face today in Ghana.
