This study utilizes a phenomenological framework to better understand homeschooled students' experiences of psychological wellbeing during their transition to college. Psychological wellbeing was examined using Ryff's (1989) model. In that model, psychological wellbeing is broken down into six dimensions (self-acceptance, purpose in life, environmental mastery, positive relationships, personal growth, and autonomy) (Ryff, 1989). These dimensions were used to formulate the semi-structured interview questions for this study and served as a structural framework on which to organize the themes revealed via the coding process. Forty-seven themes were identified across nine categories. The study's strengths, limitations, and implications are discussed within.
