The aim and purpose of this thesis is to document and reflect upon the intersection of queer studies and performance studies as the dramaturgical research for the University of Nebraska at Omaha's 2019 production of Orlando. Orlando is a novel written by Virginia Woolf that was adapted into a script by playwright Sarah Ruhl. I have documented my understanding of dramaturgy and it's application to this project. I worked closely with my advisor to guide me in my research and assignments to provide materials to inform the production, directors, designers, and actors. Dramaturgy's goal is to connect the theatre to other academic disciplines and to engage a community discourse surrounding the production. This thesis project allowed me to share my experience gained outside of my academic studies with the faculty and students of the UNO Department of Theatre.
