The purpose of this dissertation is to show that Paul's letter to the Romans was intended to advance his missiologically theocentric and anthropocentric understanding and praxis of Missio Dei (Mission of God) and Motus Dei (Movement of God). It shows that Western European and North American evangelical churches historically and typically have read Romans through systematic theological categories and prisms. This dissertation takes the position that Paul's clear intent in writing to the Romans was to lay out for them his apostolic vision and understanding of the kingdom mission of God through Christ, His gospel, and the necessity of Jesus's followers personally involving themselves in that mission.
