This qualitative research was conducted on six students in pre-college who wanted to improve their English oral presentation skills and who participated in the training program. The primary purpose of this study was to examine how to scaffold and promote students' English oral presentation competence through a technology based collaborative learning process. This study also investigates current students' perceptions and interrelationship of cognition, motivation, self-regulation, and technology use in English oral presentation. The study was based on interviews with the participating students, observations of the training program, field notes, and data collected during the research process. The results showed that (1) technology should be evolved as pedagogy in the instructional design of English oral presentation; (2) students' cognitive, motivational, and self-regulation learning strategies constantly interact in every stage of English oral presentation tasks, including group preparation, individual preparation, speech presentation, and after- speech evaluation; and (3) oral presentation is an effective approach to English teaching as it involves all necessary components of language learning. Implications and future directions are also discussed in the study.
