The present study offers qualitative research examining the subjective effects of Animal-Assisted Therapy with dogs on people who have had positive experiences with it. Because many children and adults suffer from a variety of mental and physical health concerns such as mood disorders, autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, and cancer, Animal-Assisted Interventions have become an important component of the modern therapeutic experience. It is imperative that treatment options be expanded to accommodate a diverse array of people and promote increased communication between therapist and client. The introduction of unconventional, creative methods into the mental health field will encourage individuals to share information that they might not have otherwise been willing to explore in a clinical setting. In addition, Animal-Assisted Therapy should be evaluated for the many ways they benefit individuals and influence their lives. The use of animals in treatment can have a positive impact on individuals' openness and is able to buffer the anxiety that can arise from treatment goals. This study analyzed why and how dogs are perceived as beneficial from clients' perspectives through semi-structured in-depth interviews and phenomenological research.
