This doctoral project seeks to examine whether using visual media in preaching can increase the effectiveness of communicating the biblical truth and the relevant applications. An examination of several biblical passages shows the use of visual media in communicating God's messages. Christian and secular literature related to multimedia presentation reveals the potential benefits of using visual media to communicate the biblical truth and the relevant applications. Preachers need to be trained to increase their knowledge and confidence in preaching with multimedia presentation. This project was conducted at Mandarin Baptist Church of San Fernando Valley and included the participation of sixteen pastors. The project results showed that a training for using visual media in preaching could help preachers increase the knowledge and confidence in preaching with multimedia presentation. The increased knowledge and confidence of using visual media in preaching will increase the effectiveness of communicating the biblical truth and the relevant applications.
