The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to evaluate the relationships between gender, age, and servant leadership in NCAA Division II athletic directors, as perceived by their associate athletic directors. Additionally, the study investigated whether gender moderates the relationship between age and servant leadership. Greenleaf's servant leadership theory provided the theoretical foundation for this research. A convenience sample of 102 associate athletic directors from NCAA Division II institutions was surveyed using an online survey instrument. Data were collected on athletic directors' servant leadership using the seven-item Servant Leadership Scale, along with information about the gender and age of the athletic directors. Data were analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Gender and age were entered as predictors in Block 1, and the gender x age interaction term was entered in Block 2. Gender and age did not predict statistically significant variance in servant leadership, and it was concluded that there was insufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis that no statically significant relationships exist between gender, age, and servant leadership in NCAA Division II athletic directors. The gender x age interaction term failed to add significant variance at Block 2, and it was concluded that there was insufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis that gender does not significantly moderate the relationship between age and servant leadership. These findings cannot be generalized since the study used a convenience sample limited to NCAA Division II associate athletic directors. Further research is needed, which includes NCAA Division I and III athletic directors and a wider variety of variables that might be related to servant leadership behavior.
