This mixed-methods study examined the effects of conflict resolution training on 53 middle and high school student participants. Variables of interest were participants' conflict management styles, disciplinary referral rates, and their perspective on the training. Participants were assigned to either a treatment or control group; five participants composed the focus group. Quantitative measures on the Conflict Management Questionnaire and disciplinary referral rates were analyzed using the Chi-square and paired sample t-test. Significantly fewer disciplinary referrals for the treatment group were found, but no significant difference between the two groups' conflict management styles. The focus group's results, analyzed using content analysis, revealed the areas of strength in the program and participants' desire to have additional conflict resolution training.
