Baiyue ([special characters omitted]) ethnic groups had already distributed in Lingnan ([special characters omitted]) before the arrival of the Qin. Zhao Tuo ([special characters omitted] ) established the kingdom of Nanyue ([special characters omitted]). He followed the Qin-Han political model to govern the Yue people. Meanwhile, the interactions between Han and Yue people were equality in the society. After Han Emperor Wudi ([special characters omitted]) conquered the kingdom of Nanyue, he established nine commandries. The economic development has been promoted. After the Eastern Han period, there were variations between the relationship of Han and Yue people. The integration of the cultures between Han and Yue in Han Dynasty was the beginning. Either their relationships or cultures were changing. Through the analysis of the documents and unearthed artifacts, there were interactions between Han and Yue people. At the early period of the kingdom of Nanyue, two ethnic groups experienced the equal status in a certain extent. However, the relationships were changed after the several rebellions. Fortunately, Baiyue people could preserve and develop their cultures because of the unique geographical environment in Lingnan region.
