Due to the rigors of a graduate education, graduate students contend with a wide variety of school-related challenges that can cause stress. Peer-reviewed literature reveals these stressors can negatively affect a diverse graduate student population's program satisfaction and persistence. This purpose of this project is to provide a peer-to-peer solution-focused group-counseling model for graduate students to reinforce their personal strengths for solving their school-related problems in an emotionally safe, and culturally inclusive environment. This model is designed to build trust and foster student engagement and success through shared experiences. Lead by a solution-focused counselor, the collaborative efforts of group members can be empowering and transformative, especially when personal strengths and making positive changes are the sole focus of the conversations.
