This research study examined the relationship between student perceived faculty leadership style and student perceived conflict management style. A total of 262 students at a health-related institution in Texas rated their program faculty's leadership style using the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ; Bass and Avolio, 2000) as well as their program faculty's conflict management style using the Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory-II (ROCI-II; Rahim, 2011). Demographic information was collected to include instructor gender, instructor education level, student age, student gender, student age, student education level, student ethnicity, leadership experience, and academic program. Statistical analysis included Pearson product moment correlation, multiple regression, analysis of variance, and t-tests. Results indicated that instructor gender, instructor education, student age, and student education, and student program were significant predictors in conflict management style. In addition, transformational and passive avoidant leadership explained a significant amount of conflict management style. Overall, given the findings in this study, transformational leadership influences a student's perception of their faculty's conflict management style and should possibly be considered in allied health education. This study added to the body of literature in allied health education regarding the Full Range Model of Leadership, conflict management style, and student perceptions. In addition, this study is one of the few to examine student perception of faculty. Discussion of implications, limitations and recommendations for future research are also provided.
