The goal of this study was to examine the correlation between aesthetic experience and spirituality in the works of Wassily Kandinsky and Willem de Kooning. The visual experience as a path to the spiritual sense in the artists' view as well as the viewer's. The role of abstract art in the exploration of spirituality in art history was a juncture where contemporary art believed that non-traditional form was the only way to visualize their spirituality through art. I argued that spirituality comes from subjective experience, and while Wassily Kandinsky focuses on a God-related vertical line of mystical beliefs, Willem De Kooning focuses on a horizontal line of life experiences and earthy emotions; however, in the end, both have an inner connection with a spiritual sense.
