This study aims to understand the impact of attendance and membership decline on consumer behavior in Christian Religious Organizations. This study explores the subjective experiences of twelve participants who are leaders and members of a church considered as a Christian Religious Organization that self-identify as Christians. A basic qualitative study with a semi-structured interview was used to collect data from participants using a convenience and snowball sampling method. A convenience sampling method was used to recruit current members, and a snowball sampling method was used to recruit a hard to reach population identified as new members and former members. Data findings reveal generational factors, perceived benefits, the pastor's role, religious organizations perceived as a strong brand, lack of connection with others, lack of feeling a sense of belongingness, and a willingness to recommend church to others influence attendance and membership decline.

Este estudio tiene como objetivo comprender el impacto de la disminucion de la asistencia y la membresia en el comportamiento del consumidor en las organizaciones religiosas cristianas. Este estudio explora las experiencias subjetivas de doce participantes que son lideres y miembros de una iglesia considerada como Organizacion Religiosa Cristiana que se autoidentifica como cristianos. Se utilizo un estudio cualitativo basico con una entrevista semiestructurada para recopilar datos de los participantes utilizando un metodo de muestreo de conveniencia y bola de nieve. Se utilizo un metodo de muestreo por conveniencia para reclutar miembros actuales, y se utilizo un metodo de muestreo de bola de nieve para reclutar una poblacion de dificil acceso identificada como nuevos miembros y antiguos miembros. Los resultados de los datos revelan factores generacionales, beneficios percibidos, el papel del pastor, las organizaciones religiosas percibidas como una marca fuerte, la falta de conexion con los demas, la falta de sentimiento de pertenencia y la voluntad de recomendar la iglesia a otros influyen en la asistencia y la disminucion de la membresia.
