Using the student-centered inquiry as curriculum approach for working with youth, helped me to understand that using a pedagogical approach that focuses in listening and responding to students' voice, creates a systematic form that will create a process and a procedure to be implemented in an after-school sports club. Through the lens of systems theory and ecological systems theory allowed me to establish a connection between all the intended and unintended elements that emerged and co-created the process of building a sustainable student-centered after school sports club at a local charter school. Each element that interacted in this project implemented a series of aspects that shaped them as a system. The use of an activist approach for working with youth served as the linkage and bridge that connected these elements. The data collection method was twofold, using the student-centered inquiry as curriculum approach and multiple levels of debriefings throughout the project. The analysis included an on-going process and post culmination of the study. Findings are presented in two sections: 1) The process of creating an after-school sports club subdivided in five subsections, and 2) Exploring possibilities for sustainability through university collaboration subdivided in three subsections. A total of eight subsections with themes emerged as a way to give a response to the research questions. In conclusion, the interaction of the different elements established the linkage and bridge necessary to build a system as a result and one process form of co-creating a sustainable student-centered after-school sports club.
