The current quantitative, quasi-experiential study examined the ex-post facto differences in student self-efficacy and counselor competency development between the Postgraduate Program in Psychological Counseling in Ukraine and Master of Arts in Counseling Programs in the United States. Specifically, the study sought to explore the difference among scores on the Counselor Competency Scale (Swank, 2010; Swank et al., 2012; UCF Counselor Education Faculty, 2009), the Counselor Self-Efficacy Scale (CSES) (Melchert, et al., 1996), and the Counselor Self-Estimate Inventory (COSE) (Larson et al., 1992) in students enrolled in the Postgraduate Program in Psychological Counseling and CACREP Accredited Master of Arts in Counseling Programs. Additionally, the current study sought to explore how completing the Postgraduate Program of Psychological Counseling affects counselor self-efficacy. In exploring these areas of interest, the current study sought to underscore the changes in Counselor Competence and Counselor Self-Efficacy in students who have completed the Postgraduate Program in Psychological Counseling and Master of Arts in Counseling Programs, and its impact on counselor development.
