The purpose of the qualitative, transcendental phenomenological study was to explore the perceptions of licensed counselors and psychotherapists regarding the influence of spiritual bypass within their clinical practice. Through semi-structured focus groups using open-ended questions, 18 licensed counselors and psychotherapists described their experiences. Moustakas (1994) modified Stevick-Colaizzi-Keen method of analysis was used to analyze the data. Through the analysis of the data, 20 themes emerged, of which 6 were interpreted: Clinical Consideration & Process; Finding the Good/Narrative; Identifying the Relational Impact; Supporting Power and Autonomy; Sense of Purpose/Connection; Countertransference; and Personal Beliefs/Values. Based on the findings of the study, clinical implications include the need for more clinical training on spiritual integration, counselor education on spiritual issues and their influence in clinical practice, and faith development within clinical interventions. Information from the present study could add insight to relevant treatment choices for spiritual integration. In addition, the field of psychology could utilize the collective perspectives to cultivate education and training around this matter.

520 $a El proposito del estudio cualitativo y fenomenologico trascendental fue explorar las percepciones de los consejeros y psicoterapeutas con licencia sobre la influencia del bypass espiritual en su practica clinica. A traves de grupos de enfoque semiestructurados que utilizan preguntas abiertas, 18 consejeros y psicoterapeutas licenciados describieron sus experiencias. Moustakas (1994) modifico el metodo de analisis Stevick-Colaizzi-Keen para analizar los datos. A traves del analisis de los datos, surgieron 20 temas, de los cuales 6 fueron interpretados: Consideracion clinica y proceso; Encontrar lo bueno / narrativo; Identificando el impacto relacional; Poder de apoyo y autonomia; Sentido de Proposito / Conexion; Contratransferencia; y creencias personales / valores. Segun los hallazgos del estudio, las implicaciones clinicas incluyen la necesidad de mas capacitacion clinica enintegracion espiritual, educacion de consejeros sobre temas espirituales y su influencia en la practica clinica y desarrollo de la fe dentro de las intervenciones clinicas. La informacion del presente estudio podria agregar informacion sobre las opciones de tratamiento relevantes para la integracion espiritual. Ademas, el campo de la psicologia podria utilizar las perspectivas colectivas para cultivar la educacion y la formacion en torno a este asunto.
