Recruiting student-athletes is a costly and time consuming task for collegiate coaches, but recruitment is arguably the key to a team's success. There is a considerable amount of research on college choice factors for student-athletes, but the previous research in this field has failed to specifically examine the college choice factors of collegiate golfers. Thus, there is a need to further investigate this group of student-athletes. The purpose of this study was to provide coaches and recruiting coordinators with valuable information that can streamline the recruiting process and make recruiting efforts more effective. The study examined the college choice factors of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference golfers, in an attempt to determine the most influential college choice factors of golfers in this region. Data collected through the survey instrument was analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Statistics Version 25.0 was used to run the statistical analyses. Results of the study found that golfers were most influenced by athletic scholarship (M=4.07. SD=0.975) during their college selection process. A statistically significant difference was found between males and females with regards to degree program offered; determined by one-way ANOVA (F(1,44)=11.717, p=0.001). The degree program offered was the highest rated factor for females (M=4.14, SD = 0.762). In terms of factor category (athletic, academic, or social), items classified as academic factors were the most influential for females (M=3.55), whereas males (M=3.18) were most influenced by athletic factors during their recruitment.
