This qualitative exploratory case study seeks to identify what the influence social media have on the perceptions of the Millennial Generation (MG). There were four research questions: How does social media impact the work perceptions of the millennial generation? How does social media impact the work expectations of the millennial generation? How does social media impact the reaction to job stress of the millennial generation? How does social media impact the job satisfaction of the millennial generation? The researcher interviewed members of the MG who meet the criteria of being at least twenty-four years old and having at least three social media accounts. MG has the highest turnover percentage of any generation. The results of this study should help organizational leaders to retain employees and gain understanding into this segment of the population, which is also the largest in the working world. The findings revealed that the MG want work-life balance and expect their job to fit their desired lifestyle. They also want more immediate feedback and novel experiences and sometimes that may include a new job. Although the MG's expectations may not be attainable for many organizations, the influence that social media has on the MG, along with the MG's lack of awareness of social media's influence can help employers come up with a better social media image which may help retain employees without increasing pay or other conditions.
