The practice of entrepreneurial bricolage has gained attention due to its potential value of providing much needed resources to startup businesses. By utilizing resources at hand, which are often scavenged or discarded by others, and by recombining them in ways they have not been intended, entrepreneurs create value for their ventures. The primary purpose of this research inquiry was geared toward studying the knowledge development of people who practice entrepreneurial bricolage. In addition, this study explored the role of mentors, the individual and organizational value of practicing bricolage, as well as the practice of collaborative bricolage. Furthermore, this study sought to find answers when entrepreneurial bricolage should be applied or not. As the preferred research method the qualitative research interview was chosen to allow for a flexible lens in this investigation. Thematic analysis was the applied method for the data analysis. Experienced business consultants referred participants, and the final selection was based on ratings on the Entrepreneurial Bricolage Behavior Scale. 9 participants met the selection criteria and were invited to the initial semistructured interviews and a follow-up interview. The 6 emergent themes, including 3 subthemes, delivered the following findings: (a) iii Bricoleurs have been exposed to learning environments in which the practice of bricolage was encouraged; (b) Bricoleurs give preference to hands-on practice. Entrepreneurial bricolage can generate valuable new knowledge. In addition, bricoleurs rely on their intuition to guide them in their decision making; (c) Entrepreneurial bricolage promotes individual resilience; (d) Bricoleurs choose experienced mentors based on their knowledge needs; (e) Bricoleurs engage in collaborative business relationships to grow their ventures; and (f) Entrepreneurial bricoleurs engage in selective bricolage to promote business growth. These findings are significant specifically due to the potential of bricolage to generate new knowledge and due to the selective practice of bricolage promoting business growth. More research is needed to illuminate the powerful potential of collaborative bricolage as well as the role of family members in entrepreneurial businesses. Finally, this study points to the value of conducting in-depth interviews for entrepreneurship education due to the wealth of knowledge generated in the conversations with the participants.
