It was not known to what extent leaders' self-efficacy and emotional intelligence predict transformational leadership within the context of a business organization. The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine to what extent leaders' self-efficacy and emotional intelligence predict transformational leadership within the context of a business organization in Indonesia. The underlying theories of this study are the transformational leadership model (Burns, 1978; Bass, 1990), emotional intelligence (Salovey & Mayer, 1990), and Bandura's (1986) self-efficacy theory. The first question guided this study was to examine to what extent do leaders' self-efficacy and emotional intelligence predict transformational leadership within the business organization context, whereas the second question focused on assessing to what extent do leaders' self-efficacy and emotional intelligence predict transformational leadership within the business organization context. This quantitative correlational study was conducted with leaders at several business organizations in Indonesia (N =133). The multiple regression model statistically significantly predicted transformational leadership, F(2,130) = 21.32, p < .001, adjusted R2= 0.235. Likewise, the second multiple regression model statistically significantly predicted transformational leadership, F(4,128) = 13.45, p < .001, adjusted R2= 0.274. However, only use of emotion significantly predicted Transformational Leadership. In conclusion, this dissertation research study advanced the understanding of leaders' self-efficacy and emotional intelligence as antecedent factors of transformational leadership in the business organization context.
