The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine relationships between sport leadership behavior, athlete satisfaction, and group cohesion among division I female collegiate soccer players in the United States. It was not known, if and if so, to what degree, there was a relationship between sport leadership behavior, athlete satisfaction and group cohesion. The SLBI measured sport leadership behavior. The ASQ measured athlete satisfaction. The GEQ measured group cohesion. Using a purposive sampling method, the researcher collected the data from 169 division I female collegiate soccer players. The researcher addressed three research questions in this study. Specifically, the researcher tested three hypotheses to examine relationships between sport leadership behavior, athlete satisfaction, and group cohesion using a correlational analysis. The results showed a significant, positive, and moderate correlation between sport leadership behavior and athlete satisfaction, r(153) = 0.41, p < 0.001. Also, the results showed a significant, positive, and moderate correlation between sport leadership behavior and group cohesion, r(153) = 0.23, p < 0.001. Finally the results showed a significant, positive, and moderate correlation between athlete satisfaction and group cohesion, r(153) = 0.65, p < 0.001. Overall, the findings may be useful in developing the sport leadership behavior of athletes, which may enhance the team environment.
