It is an undeniable fact that body/ies speak, and therefore, it is important to listen carefully. Despite being considered underrated and inconsequential by traditional Greek and modern philosophical systems, discourses on body/ies have found voice in the last few decades with the rise of poststructuralism and the subsequent feminist and liberation discourses. One's sex/gender and sexuality find their expression through embodied performances. Body as performative text highlights the dynamics of bodily construction under dominant patriarchal ideology that oppresses anything outside of the constructed norm. Body/ies not only reveal the construction of sex/gender and sexuality but also route new ways of embodiment through performativity strategies. In this sense, the performative body unravels the colonial imprints and deliberate strategies to decolonialize agelong body/ies for liberative purposes. Using Judith Butler's idea of performativity paves the way to locate the moments of power that aim at constructing subservient body, and by the same strategy of performativity, the body becomes the text of subversion and liberation.
