This study investigated stress and resiliency in caregivers of children with Autism by surveying 132 caregivers of children with neuro-developmental disorders. Subsequently, 80 identified as caregivers of children with Autism. Responses from the surveys became the variables Family Functioning, Stress, Faith and Resiliency. A path analysis determined a high correlative association between family functioning and stress and a negative effect on caregiver resiliency. It also identified a positive correlation between faith involvement and resiliency. Independent T-Tests showed the significance caregiver chronic illness has on resilience. This study concluded caregiver health and faith involvement can provide mitigating factors to reduce stress and increase resilience while answering the initial question of "What sets a resilient caregiver apart from a less resilient caregiver?".
