Seventy-eight mental health professionals participated in a four-hour ACT for adult ADHD content-specific training program. The participants pre- and post training levels of psychological flexibility and stigma were measured using the 2013 Work-Related Acceptance and Action Questionnaire (WAAQ) by Bond, Lloyd, and Guenole and the 2012 Measurement of Stigma Towards Adults with ADHD by Fuermaier, Tuch, Koerts, Mueller, Lange, and Tucha. Two research questions analyzed the impact of the training exposure: (a) is there a difference in Measurement of Stigma Towards Adults with ADHD scores for healthcare practitioners following their participation in an ACT program on adult ADHD?; and (b) is there a difference in WAAQ scores of healthcare practitioners following their participation in an ACT program for adult ADHD? A third research questions analyzed if any correlation between psychological flexibility and stigma presented, specifically (c) is there a relationship in change of scores on the Measurement of Stigma Towards Adults with ADHD and change of scores on the WAAQ following healthcare practitioners' participation in an ACT program for adult ADHD? A fourth research question queried, (d) does prior ACT exposure of participants predict baseline pre- training WAAQ scores? The research applied paired-samples t tests to determine the impact of ACT training exposure on stigma and psychological flexibility and both measures failed to show effects at levels of significance. A correlation analysis between stigma and psychological flexibility did not show significant findings and a linear regression failed to show a relationship between prior ACT exposure and psychological flexibility.
