Microfinance banks are established to fill the gap created by the inadequacy in the service of formal financial providers which leaves some part of the economy underserved. This research investigates the effect of Microfinance Banks Activities on Financial Inclusion in Nigeria. The specific objectives includes to examine the effect of Microfinance Banking Activities on Financial Inclusion and Poverty Reduction and investigate the effects of Non-banking Financial Activities of Microfinance Banks on Financial Inclusion. Secondary data spanning through 2005-2016 were collected from the Central Bank of Nigeria and World Bank's Website. Financial Inclusion was measured by Financial Deepening and Per Capital Income (PCI) and Microfinance Banking Activities were measured using Total Deposit (TDEP), Loan and Advances (LADV), Non-banking Activities(NBA) and Branch Network (BBRA) of Microfinance Banks in Nigeria. Data were analyzed using regression analysis. The findings of the research revealed positive and significant effect of Microfinance Banks Activities on Financial Inclusion at 5% and 10% level of significance. It also found a positive and significant effect of Loan and Advances (LADV) on Per Capital Income (PCI) at 5% level of significance. It was specifically revealed that Non-banking Activities (NBA) of Microfinance Banks positively affects Financial Inclusion. This research therefore concludes that Deposit of Microfinance Banks more particularly, reflects not to have contributed so much to financial inclusion like Non-banking Activity does, hence, the research recommends that to situate the microfinance banks in a better position that will influence financial inclusion in Nigeria, Microfinance Banks should not only target mobilization of deposit from the economically active but underserved part of the Nigerian populace.
