This study intended to deepen the understanding of impact of attachment anxiety on experiences of relationship satisfaction amongst users of online dating platforms. Specifically, this study aimed to learn if an individual's attachment-anxiety impacts his or her experiences of relationship satisfaction and whether or not using computer-mediated forms of communication contributed to that experience. Understanding the relationship between these factors can be applied to further our understanding of how attachment styles and attachment-anxiety inform adult romantic relationships, and how the Internet may be used in a way that caters to individual differences and needs. Given the rapid growth in the number of relationships that start online, the results of this study may also help clinicians further understand the impact that the use of social media has on romantic relationship development. Because this is an applied project with connections to practical use, the results of this study weren't generalized much beyond the scope of the research. However, the specificity of the sample population is fairly broad, which indicates that the data may need to be repeated in further research. Survey responses from 62 adult participants were included in the data analysis. To explore the impact that attachment-anxiety has on experiences of relationship satisfaction amongst online daters, participants were administered measures that asked questions assessing feelings of intimacy, relationship satisfaction, relationship anxiety, and use of online dating. The results of this study imply that relationship anxiety may impact the extent to which individuals feel satisfied in their online relationship.
