Objective. To investigate the effects of virtual reality on acute stress in college students during final examination week.

Method. College students rated their stress levels using the Standard Unit of Distress Scale (SUDS) before and after engaging in a selection of virtual reality applications for five minutes.

Results. Participants demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in stress levels after engaging in the virtual reality application(s) as measured by changes in their SUDS scores. A significant difference was noted between pre-test (median = 5) and post-test (median = 2).
