The Impact of School-Based Career Training on Students in Poverty: Leadership Perceptions Trident University International [2018] This three-article dissertation is a presentation of academic barriers imposed by the effects of poverty on students in public school. Article 1 consists of a literature review of poverty in education and an elaboration of facts associated with poverty, cultural influences within families, leadership within impoverished schools, teacher practices, and how intervention programs effect students from impoverished home environments. Article 2 includes comprehensive findings about the effects of poverty in education and academic achievement. The information presented is from the perspectives of individuals involved with the Carolina Alliance for Technology program in two school districts and two public high schools in South Carolina. Article 3 includes a training that is applicable to districts needing more clarification and understanding of how to teach and develop relationships with students from poverty. There is an example provided for a presenter with directions in a narrative of how to implement the training within any school district battling situations of poverty.
