The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to assess if and to what extent relationships existed between tourism trade employees' organizational concern (OC) motivation, prosocial values (PV) motivation, impression management (IM) motivation, and employees' actual Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in the state of Hawaii. The Self-Determination Theory (SDT) and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) were the two theories used as the theoretical framework. The first research question asked if the three main motivations OC, PV, and IM motivations, predict employees' OCB in Hawaii. The next three research questions asked about the correlations of the three motivations with employees' actual OCB. Survey data were collected from a convenience sample of 89 employees from the tourism trades in Hawaii using the Organizational Citizenship Behavior---Checklist and the Citizenship Measures Scale. The multiple linear regression results showed that employees' OCB motivations do significantly predict their OCB in Hawaii, F(3, 85) = 6.052, p = 0.001. However, only 14.7% of the OCB variance can be explained by the motivations for OCB. Employees' OCB correlated significantly with OC motivation, r of 0.361, p = 0.001, and PV motivation, r of 0.407, p = 0.0005, but not with IM motivation, r of 0.191, p = 0.074. The low motivation regression coefficient (OC beta = 0.136, PV beta = 0.294, IM beta = 0.039) and the low motivation correlation values (OC r = 0.361, PV r = 0.407, IM r = 0.191) are consistent with both SDT and SCT theories. This study can provide a baseline for future studies on OCB motivation in Hawaii.
