Edgewood Baptist Church of Durham, North Carolina needs to increase in the areas of unity and community to become effective in fellowship, member-care, discipleship, worship, and evangelism. A select group of leaders from Edgewood Baptist Church received training to equip them to cultivate unity and community through biblical care. The training encompassed two workshops and a sermon series on the church entitled "The Caring Community." At the final workshop on September 30, 2017, the project director introduced the select group to a model designed to promote unity and community through biblical care called the CARE model---Compassionate Action/with Relational Emphasis.
