Understanding the programmatic factors that impact the satisfaction level of sport management students and alumni will help academic leaders develop programs that provide a higher level of satisfaction to students and alumni. Once these programmatic factors are understood, it becomes important to determine if individual attributes like student / alumni status, respondent gender, or the perceived effort one puts into the educational process effect satisfaction. This mixed method study surveyed 102 sport management students and alumni at Davenport University. Findings revealed that respondents were generally satisfied with the program. None of the comparator attributes like alumni vs student status, gender, nor perceived effort, impacted overall satisfaction. Gender does help predict satisfaction with quantitative courses. Additionally, students who perceived they worked hard in the program do have a higher satisfaction level with some individual components of the program. Results of this study will help academic leaders create more highly regarded programs in the eyes of students and alumni regardless of gender or perceived effort.
