The Pilgrimage at Dabhach Phadraig, the holy well near Belcoo, County Fermanagh, Ireland, is syncretic folk liturgy that combines Catholic religious observances with Celtic mythological symbolism. The history and folklore associated with the site help locate the well within the broader tradition of Irish landscaped-based pilgrimage. An exploration of the religious use of the surrounding landscape shows the context of the well within an ancient border area significant to the Celtic worldview. Personal experience and interviews with local contacts provide insight into the significance of the well to the local community. Together, history, folklore, and landscape work with community and personal narratives providing layers of meaning that contribute to the well's significance and to the construction of identity.
