In relation to workplace values, expectations, and turnover intentions, Generation Y is purported to have various differences from other generations. Today, managers of all ages can experience issues comprehending employees' perspectives of work. This creates a stressful, frustrating, and competitive workplace for all, leaving some feeling the need to turnover. Despite various stereotypes assigned to Generation Y, it is not truly known if they are really different from previous generations, such as the Veterans, Baby Boomers, and Generation X. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to show that despite current popular media assumptions, Generation Y may not have as different of work values from previous generations. Secondly, this study brings light to the important matter of understanding each generation's expectations and how they are linked to turnover. Participants recruited (N = 321) were male and female adults from Generation Y, Generation X, and Baby Boomers working a minimum of 20 hours a week. Results showed that each generation valued Reward and Responsibility related work values equally, but differed on work values relating to Comfort . Further, each generation's met expectations were all negatively related to turnover intentions. Lastly, Generation Y showed significantly different levels of turnover intentions when compared to Generation X and Baby Boomers.
