This research study looked to find how CTE teachers currently enrolled, finishing their programs, or recently completed their coursework obtained teacher certification through an alternative program of study. Professional teachers in career and technology centers (CTC's) located in the eastern portion of the Commonwealth were self-selected and interviewed to determine: 1) his/her perception of being prepared through the coursework offered in the enrolled program and 2) his/her satisfaction with the coursework and program through various programmatic components.

Data revealed that participants were prepared and satisfied with the programs. Future studies should focus on looking at demographics among participants to determine how each perceive programs in alternative certification as well as a comparison of programs available for CTE teachers through non-traditional pathways.
