A student's ability to read affects all areas of his or her academic life. Students who have gaps in reading skills are at greater risk for academic failure. A quasi-experimental design was used to examine the effects of Response to Intervention (RTI) on student growth and achievement. Paired samples t-tests were run on students' pre-and post-benchmark test to measure if students could make significant gains in reading growth and achievement. Qualitative data were gathered on teachers' perceptions of RTI. The results showed statistical significance in student growth and achievement. This study contributed to the body of educational research to assist educational stakeholders in making informed decisions regarding student growth and achievement while implementing the RTI process.
