The purpose of the study was to analyze the role of women employed in select men's and women's professional sport leagues. The study analyzed the roles, education levels, and years of experience of women employed by the selected men's and women's professional sport leagues. The selected professional sports examine were the men's National Basketball Association (NBA), National Football League (NFL), National Hockey League (NHL), and Major League Baseball (MLB); and Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), Independent Women Football League (IWFL), National Women Hockey League (NWHL), and National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) select women's professional leagues. A total of 268 women were analyzed by their biographies or Linkedln professional database from the World Wide Web. The researcher learned that women employed in the selected professional sports leagues had no significant association in the professional roles they were employed. In addition, there were three significant correlations between education and experience and the professional role of women in the front offices of selected professional sports: (a) There was a weak statistically significant positive correlation between education level and roles of women employed by the NFL; (b) There was a weak statistically significant positive correlation between education and roles in the MLB, and (c) There was a moderate statistically significant positive correlation between education and roles in the WNBA. Education is not a barrier for women in sport management positions in professional sports, but gender may hinder the advancement to the executive level.
