Thesis (M.B.A./M.F.A.)--California State University, Long Beach, 2017.
This study defines the steps necessary to conduct an analysis on the effectiveness of pipeline programs and recruitment processes in diversifying the theatre management field. Through a series of interviews with individuals currently or previously involved with pipeline programs or recruitment processes, several recurring factors were identified that may be significant in the success or failure of equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts within the theatre industry. These factors -- funding, EDI facilitation training, and analysis of institution bias -- were then used to develop questionnaires that can be utilized to gather comprehensive data on these efforts. My proposal concludes that once this data has been collected, a statistical analysis can be conducted to measure and predict the success or failure of current and future pipeline programs and recruitment processes.
