Thesis (Ed.D.)--Wilmington University (Delaware), 2017.
Components of Response to Intervention (RTI) have been studied extensively of over the past decade. However, limited research about the long term effects of RTI tiered instruction on students' performance exists. This research aimed to increase the understanding of the effect of RTI services on student performance within one mid-Atlantic elementary school. The researcher conducted a quantitative longitudinal study using a Linear Mixed Model for data analysis, which revealed significance for some variables. Specifically, student Instructional and Accountability scores for the Delaware Comprehensive Assessment System in both the Reading and Math showed some significant results. Results of this study indicated that RTI had positive effects on the performance of some tier groups across the three years of this study. This study contains implications for district-level implementation, decision-making, and school-based postulates for the effectiveness of the RTI process.
