This dissertation is a history of the cross-cultural missionary work of the Presbyterian Church in Korea (Hapdong) in Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines from 1959 to the present. 520 $a This history shows us that like the Presbyterian Church in Korea, the Presbyterian Church in Korea (Hapdong) was born a missionary church. As one of the leading missionary sending churches in the Two-Thirds World, this church sent out 259 missionary units to 58 countries between 1959 and 1992. Among these 53 units have been serving in the above four countries. They have already made significant contributions toward the evangelization of these nations through church planting, leadership training, social work, medical and educational services, and literature production and distribution.
520 $a Despite its successful missionary endeavors, this church faces still greater challenges in order to fulfill the Great Commission. The other Korean and Two-Thirds World churches, though growing in their missionary activities, must also meet these challenges in a similar way.
