Thesis (M.A.)--Sotheby's Institute of Art - New York, 2016.
This paper will discuss the advantages of utilizing the arts and culture as a tool for urban regeneration, and will touch upon the theories that emphasize how an arts-led renaissance can improve the socioeconomic status of a place. The building of a creative city will be analyzed, with the effects on employment, social cohesion, and cultural tourism being considered. Jordan, and specifically the capital city Amman, will be used as a case study to show how utilizing such a tool can be a benefit to the socioeconomic status of the nation and lead Jordan to fill a gap in becoming an art production center in the Middle East.
