Individualized instruction has been identified as a means of improving all learners' abilities within one learning environment, in comparison to instruction that is designed to be one-size-fits-all within the same learning environment. The original Women's Roller Derby League (WRDL) used a one-size-fits-all training program. This paper outlines the action research process that was conducted to expand the Women's Roller Derby League's ability to meet the diverse needs of its League skaters, and improve the skill development of skaters within the League by implementing an individualized training/instruction regimen that should improve a skater's technical performance. This research sought to identify: How would the implementation of an individualized training program impact the perceptions held by Minnows skaters related to skater training? and How would the implementation of an individualized training program impact the training outcomes among Minnows skaters? The results indicate that all stakeholders were in support of the implemented individualized Minnows training program and the incorporation of both one-on-one instruction and group instruction. All Minnows skaters' knowledge of the sport of roller derby improved based on the training that they received from participating in the modified Minnows program. All Minnows skaters' progress was tracked via skills check sheets allowing Minnows to observe their individual progress and progress through the Minnows program at their own pace, as opposed to starting with the basics each quarter.
