Thesis (M.F.A.)--Pacific Lutheran University, 2016.
At All Hours is a story cycle that weaves together a community, capturing the interconnectedness of a small city, Olympia, Washington. The stories are told from multiple points of view and are centered around a mixed-raced family; the daughter is the protagonist. Race is only one element among many, and the stories move beyond the single family to include other members of the community. At All Hours also examines the interactions between emerging and middle-aged adults and is connected by place and character, and also by themes: power struggles, status shifts, drug culture, aging, race, and the state of limbo between adolescence and adulthood.
