Is there a significant relationship between social goals, achievement goals, persistence and effort in physical education academic achievement among 6th, 7th & 8th grade students for the same semester as measured by the Achievement Goal Questionnaire -- Physical Education (AGQ-PE) questionnaire? Students enrolled in Communities In Schools of Wake County's after school programs were targeted for the study. Students completed a questionnaire administered during the after school program.

520 $a The results of the study indicated there was no significant correlation between achievement goals in physical education and academic achievement among middle school students using the Achievement Goal Questionnaire -- Physical Education (AGQ-PE) questionnaire. The results also indicated there was no significant relationship between achievement goals, social goals, or persistence/effort in physical education and academic achievement nor was there a significant difference between male and females.
