The current study examines children's social emotional risks in relation to four parenting dimensions, which are mothers' knowledge of child development, social support, caregiving helplessness, and attachment. Using an Internet-based survey, the study included 35 mothers between 16 to 43 years with children between 12 to 36 months. Mothers' knowledge of child development and caregiving helplessness were negatively associated with children's social emotional problems, while mother's social support was positively associated with children's social emotional competence. The results demonstrated the importance of child development knowledge and social support in promoting health development in young children. Additionally, it underlined the needs to further exploring the role of the caregiving system in relation to children's developmental outcomes.
